William M. Hamilton Internship/Scholarship


Purpose: The internship/scholarship program described below is meant to benefit both the college student and the church. Students will receive work experience while earning a scholarship to apply toward college. In turn, the church will benefit from the day-to-day support the student provides with their assigned duties.

Intern Position: This will be a position assisting the staff of Eastwood Baptist Church. On completion of internship, the student will be awarded a scholarship for college.

Requirements:

  • Students must have good office skills, i.e. computer, typing, writing.
  • Student must be available during various summer hours.
  • Student must be a college student with a minimum of 30 hours of college credit.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred (official transcript must be provided with application).
  • Preference on students whose goal is ministry.
  • Must have a written letters of recommendation from a current ministerial staff member of your affiliated church, a former or current teacher and one other letter of recommendation.
  • Must be available for interview upon request.
  • Must attend the presentation ceremony.
  • Application and all supporting docuements must be turned in before deadline.
  • If student does not complete one full semester/quarter, scholarship fund may request reimbursement.

The Program: Internship for College Students

  • Preferred Schedule: 160 hours depending on availability of intern and requirement of Eastwood Baptist Church.
  • $1,500 Scholarship awarded on completion (check made payable to college).

Priority of Intern Selection:

1. Eastwood Baptist members in seminary
2. Other students in seminary
3. Eastwood Baptist members in college
4. Other students in college
